Headquartered at Tidworth in Wiltshire as part of 3rd (United Kingdom) Division, the brigade became a mechanised formation in the 1990s and served in Bosnia, Sierra Leone and Kosovo. In April 2013 it took over command of Task Force Helmand for Operation Herrick 18, and under the Army 2020 reforms it was later renamed 1st Armoured Infantry Brigade.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp
