On the left a soldier presses against the wall at an opening, returning fire with a radio antenna rising from his pack, while out in the open two more paratroopers dash across the dusty ground, one bent low with his rifle and the other stumbling, a hand reaching for the ground as he recovers. A spent case glints in the air, dust hangs between the high walls, and the helmet of another soldier, close to the camera, fills the bottom left corner.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe Kajaki dam, the goal of Oqab Tsuka, was built on the Helmand River by an American firm in the early 1950s, and its first turbines were added in the 1970s with space left for another. The turbine the operation carried there was meant to fill that space and bring more power to southern Afghanistan.
