In this colour photograph she shows her right side, with the census number T43824 on her turret, red and white recognition stripes on her hull and a Union flag flying from her aerial, while a crewman in a black beret scans the ground through binoculars beside the general, and a Covenanter tank, corn stooks and an old reaper complete the scene under a clear blue sky.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eGeneral Paget became Commander-in-Chief Home Forces in December 1941 and spent the following two years turning the Army in Britain into a force fit to return to the Continent, with large-scale exercises like this one at the heart of its training. The 42nd Armoured Division was formed in November 1941 by converting the 42nd (East Lancashire) Infantry Division, and trained in Britain with Crusaders, Covenanters and other tanks, but it was never sent overseas and was broken up in 1943 to provide men and units for other formations. Paget later commanded 21st Army Group during the early planning for D-Day, before handing over to Montgomery.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThis print is ideal for Royal Armoured Corps and
