The photo was taken during an eight-day course run by the Specialist Training Division. She is side-on with her left side to the camera, her front wheels pitched down the far slope and her rear axles still on the top. Her load bed is packed with jerrycans, her flanks are splashed with mud, and the driver’s helmeted head shows at the front, with bare hawthorn and a line of conifers in the misty background.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eCoyote crews are trained to drive over obstacles like this mound because they will meet rough, broken ground on operations. The vehicle’s hydro-pneumatic suspension lets the wheels move up and down a long way, so the tyres stay in contact with the ground. Supacat developed the Coyote from its four-wheeled Jackal by adding a third axle, which more than doubled its carrying capacity. The British Army bought both vehicles in numbers for Afghanistan, and they were later used for reconnaissance and support work by the cavalry regiments in Estonia and Poland.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp
