The lead Bulldog fills the foreground in sand paint with its extra armour panels bolted to the hull, the commander standing in his hatch in desert camouflage and goggles, the driver's head just showing in front of him and a third soldier behind a machine gun. At least three more Bulldogs follow down the road, past street lamps, civilian traffic and a large advertising hoarding topped with flags. The battalion, based at Basra Palace, was the first to take the upgraded vehicle on operations after it reached Iraq shortly before Christmas 2006.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe Bulldog is a rebuilt version of the FV432, the tracked armoured \u003ca title=\"British Army Personnel Photo prints\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hampshireprints.co.uk\/collections\/british-army-personnel-photo-prints\"\u003epersonnel\u003c\/a\u003e carrier that has served the British Army since the 1960s. For Iraq it was given additional armour, air conditioning and a new engine and transmission, and it carries a crew of two with seven soldiers in the back.
