The name Hyperides is painted on the side of the fighting compartment beside the division’s charging bull sign, the barrel of her 25-pounder is sheathed in a muzzle cover for the move, and a machine gun stands on its mounting at the front of the compartment.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe Sexton was designed in Canada in 1942 and built by the Montreal Locomotive Works, which produced 2,150 of them between 1943 and 1945 for British and Canadian forces. Mounting the British 25-pounder gun-howitzer on a tracked \u003ca title=\"British Army Vehicle Photo prints\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hampshireprints.co.uk\/collections\/british-army-vehicle-photo-prints\"\u003etank\u003c\/a\u003e chassis, it gave armoured divisions field artillery that could keep pace with their tanks, and it stayed in British service until 1956.
