She is seen from behind with her right side towards the camera, German crosses painted on her turret, stowage box and hull, her front mudguard torn and twisted, her turret hatches open and debris scattered on the bare ground around her tracks.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe Valentine was designed by Vickers as a private venture and entered service in 1940, and it went on to become one of the most widely built British tanks of the war, with more than 8,000 completed in Britain and Canada, many of them sent to the Soviet Union. The 17th\/21st Lancers, the Death or Glory Boys, landed in North Africa with the 6th Armoured Division in November 1942 and fought through the bitter winter battles in Tunisia, including the German offensive at Kasserine and Thala in February 1943. The regiment later fought in Italy, and in 1993 it amalgamated with the 16th\/5th Lancers to form the Queen’s Royal Lancers.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThis print is ideal for 17th\/21st
