Her bold disruptive camouflage, gun turrets, radar aerials on both masts and men on her quarterdeck stand out against a clouded sky, with low land on the left and gulls wheeling overhead.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eBuilt by Alexander Stephen and Sons at Govan, she was launched in July 1942 and commissioned on 13th July 1943 as one of the Ceylon group of the Fiji Class. After a short spell with the Home Fleet she joined the Eastern Fleet’s 4th Cruiser Squadron, covering carrier raids and bombarding Japanese-held territory, then the British Pacific Fleet, and by May 1945 she was shelling the Nicobar Islands. After the war she carried out bombardments in the Korean War and gave long-range gunfire support off Port Said during the Suez landings in 1956, before being sold to Peru in 1960 as BAP Coronel Bolognesi.
