It was the last time she left port. Her hull and conning tower are covered in a bold, blotched camouflage pattern, and a few of her crew stand spaced along the casing from bow to stern. Behind her, merchant steamers and smaller craft lie close together at the quays, with tall masts, smoking funnels and harbour buildings beyond.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eE18 was built by Vickers, launched on 4 March 1915 and commissioned that June under Lieutenant Commander Robert Halahan. In September 1915 she slipped through the Øresund into the Baltic to join the British flotilla working with the Russian fleet from Reval. On this final patrol she sailed in company with E8. On 26 May she torpedoed the German \u003ca title=\"Royal Navy Destroyers Photo prints\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hampshireprints.co.uk\/collections\/royal-navy-destroyer-photo-prints\"\u003edestroyer\u003c\/a\u003e V100, blowing off her bow, although the destroyer was towed home. E18 was last sighted on 1 June 1916 and never returned, almost certainly lost to a mine with all hands.
