Her two funnels, forward guns and bridge stand out in dark grey against an overcast sky, with signal flags at her yard and an ensign at her stern.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eBuilt by Scotts at Greenock and commissioned in October 1934, she joined the 5th Destroyer Flotilla of the Home Fleet, made an early deployment to the West Indies, and then served in the Mediterranean during the Abyssinian crisis before patrolling Spanish waters for the Non-Intervention Committee until 1939. In April 1940 she towed her damaged sister HMS Eclipse to safety at Sullom Voe and screened the carriers Glorious and Ark Royal off Norway, before joining Force H for the attack on the French fleet at Mers-el-Kébir on 3rd July. Days later she was torpedoed by the Italian \u003ca title=\"Royal Navy Submarines Photo prints\"
