Three more destroyers follow in close company astern and on her quarter, smoke streaming from their funnels beneath a heavy, overcast sky.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eBuilt by J. Samuel White at Cowes and completed in 1935, she rejoined the 8th Destroyer Flotilla at Scapa Flow in February 1942 for the Arctic convoys, and in March, escorting PQ 13, she fought alongside the \u003ca title=\"Royal Navy Cruisers Photo prints\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hampshireprints.co.uk\/collections\/royal-navy-cruisers-photo-prints\"\u003ecruiser\u003c\/a\u003e HMS Trinidad against three German destroyers, badly damaging Z26. That August she swept for mines in the Sicilian Narrows during Operation Pedestal, and in 1943 she covered the landings in Sicily and at Salerno and escorted surrendered Italian \u003ca title=\"Royal Navy Warships Photo prints\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hampshireprints.co.uk\/collections\/royal-navy-warship-photo-prints\"\u003ewarships\u003c\/a\u003e to Malta. Converted to a convoy escort, she supported the Juno Beach landings in June 1944, but on 21st June she struck a mine in a gale off the beachhead and was driven ashore, and although refloated she was
