Her twin gun turrets sit forward of the bridge, steam drifts past the big radar aerial on her mainmast, and on the cobbled quay a man cycles past the bollards while parked cars and a Land Rover wait near the gangway, which carries a KLM sign.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eBuilt by Vickers-Armstrongs on the Tyne and launched in July 1964, Glamorgan had commissioned only seven months before this visit, in October 1966. In the 1970s her B turret was replaced by Exocet launchers, and in the Falklands War she bombarded Argentine positions ashore until, on 12 June 1982, she was struck by an Exocet fired from a shore launcher, killing 14 of her company. Repaired, she served off Lebanon in 1984 before being sold to Chile in 1986 as Almirante Latorre, and she sank under tow on her way to the breakers in April 2005.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp
