Three jets fill the frame, and the nose of a fourth is just showing at the right-hand edge. On the left, one banks as it climbs, the centre jet is turned almost on its side, and on the right another climbs straight up, seen from directly below. Their thick white trails rise and cross the lower smoke under a dark, slate-blue sky, and fine vapour streams from the wingtips of the outer pair.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eDisplay smoke on the Red Arrows’ Hawks is made by pumping diesel into the hot jet exhaust, where it vaporises into a dense white trail. Coloured dye is added to the diesel for the red and blue smoke used during the team’s displays.
