The camera is close above and astern of XX219, so her Union flag fin, jet pipe and serial fill the left of the frame, and the roundel shows on her far wing. Far below, calm blue sea meets a long sandy beach curving round a coastal town, with farmland stretching away under a clear winter sky.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eThe Hawk began life as a Hawker Siddeley design, first flew in 1974 and entered \u003ca title=\"RAF Photo prints\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hampshireprints.co.uk\/collections\/royal-air-force-photo-prints\"\u003eRAF\u003c\/a\u003e service as an advanced jet trainer in 1976. The Red Arrows have flown it since the 1980 season, and nine of the red jets make up the display, led by the team leader as Red 1.
