Most of the cabin is in deep shadow, so that his helmet, sleeve and the gun catch the light from the open door, where blurred shapes in the foreground stand dark against a bright sky and a warm glow from the ground below.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eRoyal Navy aircrewmen are the rear crew of the Fleet Air Arm’s helicopters. Aboard a troop-carrying \u003ca title=\"The story of the Sea King\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hampshireprints.co.uk\/blogs\/british-military-aircraft-and-vehicles-guide\/westland-sea-king-helicopter-history\"\u003eSea King\u003c\/a\u003e the aircrewman looked after the passengers and cargo and talked the pilots down onto landing sites they could not see from the cockpit, and in Afghanistan he also manned the door gun to cover the aircraft as it landed and took off.
