Discover our Royal Navy Hawkins Class Aircraft Carriers photo prints, featuring HMS Vindictive, the one ship of the Hawkins Class cruisers to be completed as an aircraft carrier. Laid down at Harland and Wolff in Belfast in 1916 as the cruiser Cavendish, she was renamed and finished in October 1918 with a flying-off deck forward and a separate landing-on deck aft, among the earliest attempts at a ship that could both launch and recover aircraft. In 1919 she took her aircraft to the Baltic, where they attacked the Bolshevik fleet at Kronstadt. She was later converted back into a cruiser, and her sister ships are to be found in our Hawkins Class Cruisers collection. Available as high-quality photo prints or premium framed prints, they are perfect for collectors and enthusiasts of Royal Navy and Fleet Air Arm history. Browse the collection to find the ideal print for your home or office.
