HMS Manchester D95 Type 42 Destroyer February 1997 Photo Print
HMS Manchester (D95), a Royal Navy Type 42 destroyer, under way on 27 February 1997, photographed from directly overhead with her bow at the foot of the frame and her flight deck at the top. The whole deck plan is laid out: the 4.5 inch gun forward, a pair of Sea Dart rounds on the launcher above and behind it, the funnel amidships, and the landing circle and MC deck letters aft. Small working parties stand out on the forward deck, and her bow wave opens into a long V across sunlit water.
She was laid down at Vickers Shipbuilding and Engineering at Barrow on 19 May 1978, launched on 24 November 1980 and commissioned on 16 December 1982. As the first Batch 3 ship she was built around 42 feet longer than the earlier Type 42s, the extra length going in forward of the bridge, with a slightly wider beam, which gave her a better ride in a head sea. Gloucester, Edinburgh and York followed her to the same design.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
