Royal Navy Lynx Helicopter at Sunset HMS Argyll 2008 Photo Print
HMS Argyll's Lynx sits head-on to the camera on the frigate's flight deck on 10 October 2008, her rotors turning and her whole outline black against a low, fiery sunset sky. Aircraft Engineering Technicians of 815 Naval Air Squadron crouch and bend beside her main wheels, freeing the lashings before she lifts off for an evening sortie. The deck markings and safety netting at the edge of the flight deck show up in silhouette, with the open sea beyond.
815 Naval Air Squadron at RNAS Yeovilton was the home of the Royal Navy's Lynx force, supplying the small flights of aircrew and engineers that went to sea in frigates and destroyers. A ship's flight kept its aircraft serviceable far from any air station, working on a moving deck in all weathers. HMS Argyll, a Type 23 frigate launched on the Clyde in 1989, went to sea with a Lynx flight for much of her career.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
