British Army 1 Coldstream Guards Chinook Overhead April 2010 Photo Print
Guardsmen of 3 Company, 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards, British Army, crouch in long grass at the edge of a poppy field in the Babaji area of Helmand in April 2010, as a Chinook descends almost directly above them to lift them out. The helicopter is a dark shape against a pale evening sky, and its downwash fills the air with flying leaves and grit. Below it two Guardsmen look up from among the grass and their kit. In the foreground lies a heap of packs and equipment with a radio antenna sticking up, and a line of trees fades into the haze behind.
The Coldstream Guards’ motto is Nulli Secundus, Second to None. It reflects the regiment’s claim to be older than the Grenadier Guards, even though it stands second to them in the order of precedence of the Foot Guards. The extraction in this photograph marked the end of a joint patrol with the Afghan National Army south of Patrol Base 3. It was one of many such patrols the battalion carried out that spring to hold the ground it had cleared around Babaji.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
