British Army 1 RIFLES Task Force Hannibal Germany May 2026 Photo Print
A rifleman of the 1st Battalion, The Rifles takes aim from the shadow of an interior wall during the defence of the former Princess Royal Barracks at Gütersloh in Germany, part of Exercise Rhino Storm in May 2026. He was acting as opposing force, known on the exercise as Task Force Hannibal or Red Force. Daylight floods in from the right and catches the barrel and the edge of his shoulder, his helmet heavily garnished with scrim and carrying a small red light, his rifle fitted with an optical sight, and he wears Multi Terrain Pattern combat dress, gloves and body armour hung with pouches.
The Rifles was formed on 1 February 2007, with the 1st Battalion created from the amalgamation of the Devonshire and Dorset Regiment and the Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiment. The battalion served alongside 3 Commando Brigade between 2008 and 2012, spent two years in Cyprus and returned to Chepstow in 2025 to take up the light mechanised role within 7th Light Mechanised Brigade. The ground it is fighting over here has a long British history of its own: the airfield was built in 1935, served as RAF Gütersloh from 1945 until 1993, and then became Princess Royal Barracks, which the last British soldiers left in September 2016.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
