British Army 1 Royal Welsh Sniper Nad-e Ali January 2010 Photo Print
A sniper of the Mobility Recce Force, 1st Battalion, The Royal Welsh, British Army, aims his L115A3 sniper rifle over a low bank of gravel on a reassurance patrol north of Patrol Base Wahid in Nad-e Ali, Helmand, in January 2010. Only his head, shoulders and arms show above the stony ground, with the rifle resting on its bipod and pointing off to the right. He wears a net-covered helmet, desert camouflage and gloves, with a drinking tube looped over his shoulder, and his rifle and telescopic sight are wrapped in tan to match the ground. Behind him the dry, golden grass is blurred out of focus. The patrol was carried out with a platoon of the Afghan National Army.
The 1st Battalion carries on the line of the Royal Welch Fusiliers, whose officers in the First World War included the poets Siegfried Sassoon and Robert Graves. The other half of the regiment, the Royal Regiment of Wales, had been formed in 1969 from the South Wales Borderers and the Welch Regiment. The L115A3 came to Afghanistan with the Sniper System Improvement Programme, which also gave snipers new day and night sights and first deployed in May 2008.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
