British Army 1 RRF Fusiliers 81mm Mortar Basra Iraq March 2003 Photo Print
Two soldiers of W Company Mortar Platoon, 1st Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, British Army, work an 81mm mortar from the open roof hatch of their armoured vehicle on the front line just south of Basra, Iraq, on 26 March 2003. One, in desert camouflage, holds a pale green mortar bomb over the muzzle with both hands and shouts as he prepares to load, while the other bends over the sight in a woodland pattern smock with the First Fusiliers title and the red Desert Rat badge on his sleeve. A rifle lies on the hull roof beside them, and a second tracked vehicle and its crew wait beside a sand berm in the background. The platoon was preparing to engage Iraqi Army positions after an evening of heavy incoming fire.
The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers was formed on St George's Day, 23 April 1968, from four English fusilier regiments: the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers, the Royal Warwickshire Fusiliers, the Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment) and the Lancashire Fusiliers. Its soldiers wear a red and white hackle in the beret. In 2003 the 1st Battalion went to Iraq as an armoured infantry battlegroup of 7th Armoured Brigade, the Desert Rats, on Operation Telic.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
