British Army 1 YORKS Machine Gunner Helmand January 2012 Photo Print
A soldier of B Company, 1st Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment, British Army, kneels at the corner of a crumbling mud wall to watch a possible enemy compound while on patrol from Patrol Base Rahim in the Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmand, Afghanistan, in January 2012. He is aiming a light machine gun fitted with an optical sight, with his helmet, body armour and pack all coated in the same pale dust as the wall beside him. Beyond the wall a ploughed field stretches away to a line of bare winter trees and low buildings under a soft, clear sky.
The Yorkshire Regiment was formed on 6 June 2006, and its 1st Battalion came from the former Prince of Wales’s Own Regiment of Yorkshire. In October 2011 about 500 of the battalion deployed to Helmand for six months with 20th Armoured Brigade, its first complete deployment to Afghanistan, with B and C Companies serving alongside the Danish Army in Nahr-e Saraj. The battalions were reorganised and renumbered in 2013, and in April 2023 the regiment was granted royal status as the Royal Yorkshire Regiment.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
