British Army 2 RIFLES Patrol Halts at IED Sangin 2009 Photo Print
Riflemen of the 2nd Battalion, The Rifles, British Army, halt on a dusty track near Sangin, Helmand, in 2009 after a suspected IED was found ahead. The photograph is taken from over the shoulder of a rifleman in the foreground, with his radio earpiece cable and sleeve patch in sharp focus. Further down the track three more men crouch low and spread out, and the nearest has a metal detector beside him. High mud walls line the route, with a sangar on top of the compound wall behind, under a hard blue sky. The patrol was part of a 20-hour operation by 2 RIFLES, with the Royal Engineers, to clear a safe route to Patrol Base Wishton.
2 RIFLES was formed in 2007, when the 1st Battalion, The Royal Green Jackets became the second battalion of the new regiment, The Rifles. In 2009 the battalion deployed to Sangin on Operation Herrick 10. The district was one of the most dangerous in Helmand, and the roads in and out of its bases were heavily seeded with IEDs. Opening safer routes, like the new road to Wishton, let supplies reach the patrol bases while they were being built up.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
