British Army 2 PARA Sniper FOB Inkerman Sangin August 2008 Photo Print
A sniper of the 2nd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment, British Army, gives cover with his L115A3 sniper rifle as a patrol crosses open ground in the Upper Sangin Valley, Helmand, Afghanistan, in August 2008. Seen from behind his right shoulder, he leans into the rifle over a pale, crumbling mud wall, his eye to the telescopic sight and the rifle pointing off to the right, wrapped in tan and green to break up its outline. His helmet is covered in netting and scrim, and the battalion’s blue flash and parachute wings show on his sleeve. Beyond the wall lie green fields, lines of trees and a leaning telegraph pole, with hazy hills along the skyline.
B Company, 2 PARA, held Forward Operating Base Inkerman, north of Sangin town, through the summer of 2008, the first troops to work in the surrounding green zone for a whole fighting season. The base came under attack so often that soldiers knew it as FOB Incoming, and patrols in the fields and compounds around it were regularly engaged by insurgents as close as 30 metres away. Holding the valley helped stop Taliban fighters moving freely through it and protected reconstruction work further down.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
