British Army 3rd Hussars Light Tank Mk VIA c1937 Photo Print
A British Army Light Tank Mk VIA of the 3rd The King’s Own Hussars drives across a grassy training ground around 1937, her commander in a peaked service cap standing in the turret and her driver looking out through his open front hatch. She is seen from the front with her right side towards the camera, her twin turret machine guns and civilian-style registration CMM 915 clear on her hull, with a fence line and bare trees in the background.
The Vickers Light Tank Mk VI entered service in 1936 as the Army’s main light tank for reconnaissance and imperial policing, with a three-man crew and machine guns in a small turret, and by the outbreak of war it was the most numerous tank in British service. The 3rd The King’s Own Hussars, raised in 1685, became one of the first cavalry regiments to give up its horses, mechanising in 1935 and 1936. The regiment took its Mk VI light tanks into action with the 7th Armoured Division at Sidi Barrani and Beda Fomm in 1940 and 1941, and squadrons fought them on Crete and in Java, before it went on to El Alamein and Italy. In 1958 the 3rd Hussars amalgamated with the 7th Queen’s Own Hussars to form The Queen’s Own Hussars, whose traditions live on in The Queen’s Royal Hussars.

We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
