British Army Churchill Tank 6th Guards Venray October 1944 Photo Print
A British Army Churchill tank of the 6th Guards Tank Brigade advances through clouds of smoke on a sandy track during the push on Venray in the Netherlands on 17th October 1944, as the brigade’s tanks lay a smokescreen. She is seen with her right side to the camera and her gun trained forward, with spare track links hung on her turret for extra protection, and a soldier in a long coat with his rifle slung walks alongside her beneath tall pines as another tank looms out of the haze behind.
The 6th Guards Tank Brigade was formed as the 6th Guards Armoured Brigade in 1941 from battalions of the Foot Guards, and in 1943 it became an independent tank brigade equipped with Churchills, made up of the 4th Tank Battalion Grenadier Guards, the 4th Tank Battalion Coldstream Guards and the 3rd Tank Battalion Scots Guards. It landed in Normandy on 20th July 1944 and fought through the campaign in North West Europe in support of the infantry, including the hard fighting around Overloon and Venray in October 1944. Renamed the 6th Guards Armoured Brigade in early 1945, it ended the war deep in Germany.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
