British Army Foxhound Desert Trials Camp Bastion June 2012 Photo Print
A British Army Foxhound light protected patrol vehicle is put through its paces on the open desert at Camp Bastion, Helmand, Afghanistan, in June 2012, within days of the first vehicles arriving. Seen side-on from its left as it swings to the left of the picture, it churns up sand from both wheels, its mottled camouflage, machine gun mount over the bonnet and the weapon mounts and sensor housing on the roof sharply lit by the hard midday sun. Tall antennas rise into a pale blue sky, and the flat, empty desert runs out to a hazy skyline.
The vehicle Foxhound replaced, the Snatch Land Rover, had been built for patrolling in Northern Ireland, where its armour was meant to stop stones, petrol bombs and small-arms fire. In Iraq and Afghanistan it proved badly exposed to large roadside bombs, and its losses became the subject of fierce public debate at home. Foxhound was meant to keep the Snatch’s small size and agility while giving its crew far more protection, which is why trials like this one at Bastion mattered so much to the soldiers who would ride in it.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
