British Army Queen's Royal Lancers Challenger 2 Basra May 2004 Photo Print
A Challenger 2 main battle tank of A Squadron, The Queen's Royal Lancers, British Army, swings round on soft sand while patrolling outside Basra, Iraq, in May 2004 during Operation Telic 4. Photographed at close range from the front quarter, the tank has its turret traversed so the long gun barrel crosses the frame, with white exhaust smoke drifting from the rear and dust lifting from the tracks. A chevron and the number 92 are painted on the turret side, a crewman's helmet shows at a turret hatch, and the driver's head is just visible at the front of the hull. Coils of razor wire run along a sand bank behind.
The Queen's Royal Lancers existed from 1993 to 2015, created from the 16th/5th The Queen's Royal Lancers and the 17th/21st Lancers and later merged with the 9th/12th Royal Lancers to become The Royal Lancers. The regiment wore the skull and crossbones cap badge inherited from the 17th Lancers. It took Challenger 2 into Iraq in March 2003, the tank's first war, and came back to Basra for this tour the following year.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
