British Army SCOTS DG Warthog Silhouette Helmand July 2011 Photo Print
Warthog armoured vehicle of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, British Army, stands silhouetted against a low, hazy sun in Helmand in July 2011, during Operation HERRICK 14. A crewman’s helmeted head and shoulders rise from a roof hatch beside a mounted machine gun, with tall radio antennas and bar armour picked out against a sky turned blue by early morning dust and haze. The vehicle was with the regiment’s 1st Troop, which had just moved to Main Operating Base Price and was heading out to set up vehicle and personnel checkpoints.
The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards were formed in 1971 by the amalgamation of the 3rd Carabiniers and the Royal Scots Greys, and are Scotland’s only regular cavalry regiment. The French eagle on their cap badge commemorates the standard of the 45th Regiment of the Line, captured by Sergeant Charles Ewart of the Scots Greys at Waterloo in 1815. On HERRICK 14 the regiment provided a squadron for the Warthog group, giving infantry fast, protected mobility across Helmand, and a second squadron to mentor the Afghan National Army.

We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
