British Army Scots Guards Sharpshooter Silhouette August 2010 Photo Print
A soldier of the 1st Battalion Scots Guards, British Army, looks through the sight of his Sharpshooter rifle in Helmand, Afghanistan, in August 2010, seen in close silhouette against a low sun. His helmeted head, hands and the rifle, resting on its bipod on the edge of his position, are black against a glowing pale sky, with the small sight mounted on top of the main optic clearly outlined and a few thin wires crossing the sky behind. B Company were working with the Royal Dragoon Guards and Afghan security forces to keep traffic moving on Route 601, the tarmac road that links Lashkar Gah with Kandahar.
The Sharpshooter rifle was made for the British Army by Lewis Machine and Tool in the United States. In Afghanistan it usually carried a magnified day sight with a small red-dot sight on top for quick, close-range shots, the arrangement that shows clearly in this silhouette. The Royal Dragoon Guards, who shared the Route 601 task, were formed in 1992 by the amalgamation of the 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards and the 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
