British Army Spartan APC IFOR Split 1996 Photo Print
A British Army FV103 Spartan armoured personnel carrier waits in the convoy staging area of 22 Engineer Regiment and 1st The Queen’s Dragoon Guards on the dock at Split, Croatia, in 1996, her left side to the camera and her driver’s head just showing above his hatch. She wears green and black camouflage with IFOR in large white letters, an inverted V, a black eagle emblem, a Union flag on her front plate and the registration 48 AT 81, while Challenger 1 tanks in IFOR markings stand behind her against a warehouse wall and a dockside crane in bright sunshine.
The Spartan was the armoured personnel carrier of the Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance (Tracked) family designed by Alvis, sharing its running gear and Jaguar petrol engine with the Scorpion and Scimitar. It entered British Army service in 1978 and carried small specialist teams rather than full infantry sections, typically three crew and four passengers, such as Royal Engineer reconnaissance parties, mortar fire controllers and air defence detachments. Around 500 were still in British service in 2007, and the Spartan was replaced by the Panther Command and Liaison Vehicle by 2009.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
