British Army Chieftain Mk11 Tank Bovington Museum August 2013 Photo Print
A British Army Chieftain Mk11 main battle tank throws up dust as it drives round the arena at the Tank Museum, Bovington, in Dorset during a running demonstration on 29 August 2013. Its long gun barrel and the front of the turret are wrapped in camouflage netting, the registration 03 EB 83 is painted on the hull front, and a Union Flag and a small green pennant fly from its radio aerials. Another tracked vehicle waits on the far side of the track under a pale grey sky.
The FV4201 Chieftain entered British Army service in the late 1960s and was the main battle tank of the Royal Armoured Corps in Germany for much of the Cold War. Its 120mm L11 rifled gun and steeply sloped armour made it one of the most heavily armed and best protected tanks of its day. The Mk11 added the Thermal Observation and Gunnery Sight for fighting at night, and Chieftain was replaced by Challenger 1 and then Challenger 2 before leaving service in the 1990s.
This print is ideal for Royal Armoured Corps and British Army veterans who crewed the Chieftain and anyone with an interest in British Cold War armour.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
Your order will be crafted by award-winning framing technicians based in central England, with decades of combined experience. Using the finest FUJI professional photographic papers and premium materials, they ensure exceptional print and frame quality.
Our hand-picked craftsmen and women work with state-of-the-art printing and cutting equipment, yet every frame is still assembled by hand and subject to rigorous quality checks. Their dedication consistently results in outstanding work, appreciated by many returning customers.
