Royal Navy Harrier GR9 Jet Landing HMS Ark Royal 2007 Photo Print
A Harrier GR9 hangs in the hover above the flight deck of HMS Ark Royal on 29 January 2007, wheels down and her landing light shining, seen from deck level straight along the painted centre line. Towering white cumulus cloud fills the sky behind her, and a second Harrier is parked further along the deck.
The GR9 was an upgraded GR7, fitted with new avionics and able to carry a wider range of precision weapons, and it became the last version of the Harrier to fly with British forces. Because the Harrier could hover and land vertically, the Invincible class carriers needed no catapults or arrester wires, only a ski ramp at the bow to help heavily loaded jets get airborne. Ark Royal operated Harriers until November 2010, when the last GR9s flew off her deck a few months before she was decommissioned.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
