HMNB Chatham (HMS Pembroke) Aerial Photo Print
HMNB Chatham (HMS Pembroke) is seen here in an undated black and white aerial photograph, looking down the length of the great enclosed basins on St Mary's Island. Warships and auxiliaries lie moored against the basin walls, with dockside cranes, workshops and storehouses crowding the quays and streets of housing spreading away beyond the buildings on the right.
Chatham served the Royal Navy for more than four centuries, and it was here that HMS Victory was launched in 1765. The basins shown were part of the large Victorian extension of the yard across St Mary's Island, completed in the 1880s, which let the dockyard fit out the iron and steel ships of the late nineteenth century. HMS Pembroke was the name of the naval barracks that housed thousands of sailors at Chatham, and the dockyard closed in 1984, with the oldest part of the site now kept as the Historic Dockyard.
This print is ideal for those who served or trained at HMS Pembroke and anyone with family ties to Chatham Dockyard and the Medway towns.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
