HMNB Portsmouth Dockyard Aerial View 2005 Photo Print
HMNB Portsmouth is seen on a bright July day in 2005, looking across the heart of the dockyard from the air. The Invincible-class carrier HMS Illustrious (R06) lies alongside in the foreground with destroyers and frigates berthed to her left, while HMS Victory sits in her dry dock among the brick storehouses of the historic dockyard and a small passenger boat trails its wake across the water below.
HMS Illustrious was commissioned in 1982, completed in a hurry for the Falklands, and served for more than three decades before she paid off in 2014. This photograph was taken only a couple of weeks after the International Fleet Review of 28 June 2005, when ships from many navies gathered in the Solent to mark the bicentenary of Trafalgar. HMS Victory, Nelson's flagship at that battle, has rested in dry dock at Portsmouth since 1922.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
