HMS Active F171 Type 21 Frigate 1991 At Sea Photo Print
HMS Active (F171) punches through a rough, grey sea in Liverpool Bay in 1991, viewed off her starboard bow with spray breaking along her waterline and whitecaps all around. The Union Flag stands out at the jackstaff, the White Ensign flies aft and a low, heavy overcast fills the sky.
She was built by Vosper Thornycroft at Southampton, laid down on 23 July 1971, launched on 23 November 1972 and commissioned on 19 July 1977. Active was the first ship of her class to be completed with Exocet anti-ship missile launchers fitted forward, giving her a heavier surface punch than the earliest Type 21s.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
