HMS Ajax F114 Leander Class Frigate from Above Photo Print
HMS Ajax (F114), a Royal Navy Leander Class frigate, is viewed from high over her starboard quarter, giving a clear view down onto her flight deck, hangar and the mortar well at the stern. A small helicopter, almost certainly a Westland Wasp, is ranged on the deck, and the large bedstead aerial of her long range air warning radar stands on the after mast. The number 24 on her funnel places this undated photo in the mid 1960s.
Soon after commissioning, Ajax was sent to the Far East and from 1964 to 1968 served there as leader of the 24th Escort Group, whose number she wore on her funnel. Her duties in those years ranged from the Beira Patrol off Mozambique and the British withdrawal from Aden to spells as guardship at Hong Kong.

We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
