HMS Alderney S66 Amphion Class Submarine Photo Print
HMS Alderney (S66), a Royal Navy Amphion Class submarine, slides into Portsmouth Harbour in this undated photograph, seen on her starboard side with her ship's company fallen in on the casing forward of the fin as she passes the Gosport shore. The tall tower of the Submarine Escape Training Tank at Fort Blockhouse rises above the seafront, and a small vessel heads out in the opposite direction behind her.
Fort Blockhouse at Gosport was HMS Dolphin, the home of the Submarine Service, and boats like Alderney came and went past its walls on almost every passage in and out of Portsmouth. The escape tank seen here opened in 1954, and submariners of her era trained in its deep column of water, practising the free ascent they would need to leave a sunken boat.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
