HMS Ambush S120 Astute Class Submarine 2012 Bow Photo Print
HMS Ambush (S120), a Royal Navy Astute Class submarine, comes straight towards the lens on 19 September 2012, the day she first reached Her Majesty's Naval Base Clyde from her builders. Taken from almost dead ahead and close to the waterline, the view lines up her rounded bow, both forward hydroplanes and the tall fin, with a mast raised above the bridge and two figures standing on top. Low wooded hills sit along the horizon beneath a broken, bright sky, and the choppy water glitters in the sun.
Ambush was one of the first three Astute Class boats, ordered together in 1997 as successors to the Swiftsure and Trafalgar Class hunter-killers. Her keel was laid at the BAE Systems yard in Barrow-in-Furness in 2003, and she took shape under cover inside the Devonshire Dock Hall. She was the second of the three to be completed, following HMS Astute herself.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
