HMS Argyll F231 Type 23 Frigate June 2014 Plymouth Sound Photo Print
HMS Argyll (F231), a Royal Navy Type 23 frigate, comes straight towards the camera in Plymouth Sound on 20 June 2014, her bow and anchor centred in the frame and a wooded green hillside, with an old ruined wall among the trees, filling the background. A hoist of signal flags hangs from both yardarms, and sailors stand on the forecastle and at the bridge wings in the summer sunshine.
She is the third ship of the name, which comes from the Scottish dukedom of Argyll, in keeping with the Duke names of the Type 23 class. Her predecessor was an armoured cruiser that was wrecked on the Bell Rock off the Angus coast in 1915. The modern frigate was sponsored by the Worshipful Company of Paviors, and for most of her career she was based at Devonport.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
