HMS Asphodel (K56) was a Flower Class Corvette of the Royal Navy, built by George Brown and Company and commissioned in 1940. Designed primarily for anti-submarine warfare and convoy escort duties, ships of her class played a critical role in maintaining vital supply lines during the Battle of the Atlantic. She served throughout the war until she was sunk by the German submarine U-575 on the 10th of March 1944.
