HMS Astute S119 Astute Class Submarine 2009 Faslane Photo Print
HMS Astute (S119), an Astute Class submarine, moves up the Clyde towards Faslane on 20 November 2009, her first arrival at her new base after the passage round from Barrow-in-Furness. This black and white view looks at her port bow, with small groups of sailors standing on the casing ahead of and behind the fin, lookouts on the bridge and an ensign flying aft. Beyond her the water fades into a pale, misty sky, and two small figures watch from the far shore.
Astute was laid down in the BAE Systems yard at Barrow on 31 January 2001 and rolled out of the Devonshire Dock Hall in June 2007, when the Duchess of Cornwall named her. She left Barrow in November 2009 for the passage north to the Clyde, which was to be the home port of the whole class, and she was formally commissioned into the Royal Navy on 27 August 2010.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
