HMS Astute S119 Astute Class Submarine 2009 Starboard Bow Photo Print
HMS Astute (S119), a Royal Navy Astute Class submarine, is seen almost broadside on from her starboard side in full colour, sailing through calm blue water with bare, brown hills behind her and cloud lying on their summits. Two small groups of sailors in dark uniforms stand on the casing, one forward and one aft of the fin, while crew in orange jackets fill the bridge beneath a raised mast. The upper rudder shows at her stern and a line of houses runs along the shore to the right, and the listing dates the photograph to 2009.
Her trials deployment to the United States kept her away for about four and a half months, with 77 days at sea and 65 alongside. Off the eastern seaboard of North America she fired her Tomahawk land attack missiles for the first time and was tested against USS New Mexico, one of the US Navy's Virginia Class attack submarines. Senior officers from both navies, including the First Sea Lord, inspected her before she came home to the Clyde in March 2012.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
