HMS Brecon M29 Hunt Class Mine Warfare Vessel June 1985 Photo Print
HMS Brecon (M29), a Royal Navy Hunt Class mine warfare vessel, steams down the Potomac River in June 1985, photographed from high ground above the water with treetops framing the foreground. The river is almost glassy, so her port side, the red pennant number and a long curling wake are mirrored on the surface, and a few sailors can be made out on the forecastle.
In 1985 Brecon was serving with the 1st Mine Countermeasures Squadron, and in early June she and her sister HMS Cottesmore paid a visit to the Washington Navy Yard, reaching the American capital by way of the Potomac. United States Navy photographers followed the pair on the river, recording them passing the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge and later approaching Fort Washington on the way back downstream.

We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
