HMS Bridgewater U01 Bridgewater Class Sloop 1948 Photo Print
HMS Bridgewater (U01), the Royal Navy sloop that gave her name to the Bridgewater Class, barely making way on a calm sea and viewed on her port bow. She wears a disruptive camouflage scheme with her pennant number painted in white across a dark panel amidships, and a tall mast rises above her bridge. Her camouflage and U01 pennant belong to the Second World War period.
Bridgewater was ordered from Hawthorn Leslie at Newcastle in 1927, launched on 14 September 1928 and commissioned in March 1929. She spent her early years on the China Station, carrying troops of the Green Howards to Hankou in 1930 and helping survey the Dangerous Ground in the South China Sea in 1931. In 1935 she moved to the Africa Station, and from 1939 she escorted convoys off West Africa, playing a minor part at Dakar in September 1940. Later in the war she served as a target ship for the 3rd Submarine Flotilla before going into reserve at Ardrossan in July 1945.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
