HMS Chatham F87 Type 22 Frigate Off Iraq May 2008 Photo Print
HMS Chatham (F87) Royal Navy Type 22 Frigate pictured in a port quarter view from the air whilst carrying out duties as Sector Area Commander of the Khawr al Amaya Iraqi oil terminal on 4th May 2008. This Royal Navy photo print captures Chatham on patrol duties in the Gulf, offering a distinctive piece of British maritime wall art.
In March 2003, Chatham became the first British warship to fire her guns in anger since the Falklands War when, as part of Operation Telic, she engaged targets on the Al-Faw Peninsula of southern Iraq. Approximately 60 rounds were fired at a variety of targets from her 4.5-inch gun, and in company with HMS Marlborough, HMS Richmond and HMAS Anzac she remained on station for the following 72 hours at immediate readiness to provide fire support to the Royal Marines as they advanced up the peninsula.
HMS Chatham was a Batch 3 Type 22 Frigate of the Royal Navy and was decommissioned on 8th February 2011. She carried the rare distinction of having a motto in English, "Up and at 'em", the rallying cry of the Medway towns' football and rugby teams, later translated into Latin as "Surge et vince". Her long service career makes her a notable subject in modern Royal Navy history.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
