HMS Churchill I45 Town Class Destroyer 1940 to 1944 Photo Print
HMS Churchill (I45), a Royal Navy Town Class destroyer, under way in sheltered water, photographed from a high vantage point on her starboard side with low, flat land along the far shore. The four funnels of her American design stand out clearly, and she carries a bold disruptive camouflage scheme with a large pale wedge running along her hull.
Churchill began life as USS Herndon, a Clemson class destroyer launched at Newport News in 1919, and passed to the Royal Navy in September 1940 as one of the fifty old destroyers exchanged for bases. She led the first Town Class flotilla on Atlantic convoy and patrol work, took part in the search for Bismarck, and received a visit from Winston Churchill himself in August 1941. Transferred to the Soviet Navy in July 1944 as Deyatelny, she was lost on 16 January 1945 while escorting a convoy from the Kola Inlet to the White Sea, with only seven of her 124 crew surviving.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
