HMS Concord R63 C Class Destroyer December 1946 Photo Print
HMS Concord (R63), a Royal Navy C Class destroyer, is under way on 10th December 1946, ten days before commissioning, seen from off her port bow with her pennant number painted on the hull and a small bow wave at her stem. A line of signal flags runs from her masthead and an ensign flies aft, with her forward gun mounts and bridge picked out against a soft grey sky over calm water.
One of the Co group, she was built by Thornycroft at Southampton and launched in May 1945 as Corso, taking the name Concord in June 1946 before commissioning on 20th December that year. She spent ten years in the Far East with the 8th Destroyer Squadron, and in July 1949 she entered the Yangtze to cover the escape of the sloop HMS Amethyst past Woosung, lending sailors to Amethyst’s depleted crew and escorting her downriver to safety. She went on to serve in the Korean War, and after leaving the Far East in 1957 she became a static training ship at HMS Caledonia, Rosyth, before being broken up at Inverkeithing in 1962.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
