HMS Dunkery T224 Hills Class Trawler June 1942 Photo Print
HMS Dunkery (T224), a Royal Navy Hills Class trawler, is under way on 5 June 1942, seen from her starboard bow with a low shoreline, buildings and a lattice tower in the distance. A group of sailors in dark uniforms stands at the gun platform on her forecastle beside the gun, and a hoist of signal flags runs up to her foremast. Smoke rises from her funnel behind the canvas-screened bridge.
The Hill Class were eight trawlers built by Cook, Welton and Gemmell at Beverley, based on the firm's 1937 commercial trawler Barnett and armed with a 12-pounder gun, three Oerlikons and depth charges. Dunkery was launched on 4 December 1941 and later served as an escort out of Freetown, sailing with Convoy SL 152 in March 1944. Sold after the war and renamed Spaniard, she was wrecked off Finnmark in northern Norway in March 1949, with all her crew rescued.

Framing & Mounting
We provide a bright white mount as standard. If you prefer an alternative colour, please contact us. Depending on the print's size and orientation, we may occasionally need to adjust the mount's size or shape to ensure the best presentation.
Our frame selection is extensive, and due to website limitations not every style can be listed. If you have a particular colour or design in mind, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss available options.
The final frame size and proportions may vary slightly based on the image ratio. Occasionally, frames may need to be a little taller or wider than the chosen size; however, they will never be smaller than the specified dimensions.
